Steering wheel vibration, brakes acting strange, other issues

It doesn't take a lot of energy to pull the fuse for the ABS and see if that stops the vibration in the pedal, which I might add is a common ABS symptom.

What would cause the ABS system to malfunction? or perhaps it's working properly?

And I had to take a break. Heat index today was over 101'F, been out there all day. I wanted out of there. No a/c in my truck either.

Maybe it is working properly. But it's a free check.

I had a Lincoln that when I hit the brakes the peddle shuddered so bad it shook the steering wheel. I had a friend who was a mechanic, and he pulled the ABS fuse and it was gone.

Ah. I'm thinking maybe it's trying to compensate somehow for potentially warped rotors. Got a replacement tire put on today to replace the suspected tire.. still pulls to the right. Was pulling to left before I swapped the front tires. I likely changed out the wrong one.. d'oh! :banghead: Still got the old tire though so I'll swap it out yet again.

Took a 20 minute trip today otherwise and the brake pedal only slightly vibrated twice, didn't even vibrate the steering wheel unlike last time. Weird. I'll pull the ABS fuse next.

..Still haven't pulled the fuse yet but I'm 90% certain ABS has something to do with this phenomenon. I can feel a humming vibration through the steering wheel and brakes (ABS pump?) when I'm braking or driving at very low speeds (less than 10 mph).

After I didn't drive the truck around for a few days, the problem really became more frequent. The ABS light never comes on unless I'm starting the vehicle, and that's for a few seconds.

If the ABS system is really the cause, what keeps causing it to engage?

If I keep the steering wheel completely straight ABS almost never engages, but if I'm just slightly turning left or right (even very slightly) the brake pedal pushes back at me in a vibrating fashion and the wheel shakes to the right.

There's numerous parts to the ABS system. Pushing back when braking sounds like it. Just pull the maxi fuse under the hood and see if the shaking is gone.
