I know this has happend to some of you so how did you go about fixing or replacing?

I was putting new shocks on my 94 X and the lower front shock mount broke at the threads. I'm open for suggestions:D

Do you have access to a welder?

if so do what i did.
find you a large Grade A bolt, and a nut for it...and make sure it fits through the shock hole.
then torch the remainder of the stock shock mount off maybe grind it flat if needed....then weld the grade A bolt where the stock shock mount was.......put your shock on, then put the nut on and tighten it.....and check it in a few days to ensure its still tight

did mine like that and its held up for 14 months now........

This is simple. Go to track auto or any other parts store and get a shock mount, I think this one was for a car. It came with a washer and nut for the inside of the radius arm, rubber bushings for the shock, and a washer and nut for the outside.
Drill a hole next to the existing shock mount and put this one on. you could probably cut the old one off and get really close to where it was originally-maybe even drill out the original hole. Simple fix that has lasted 2 years without problems. No need to worry about welding or anything.

I just had our welded back on. It broke clean enough that they could get it back wehre it belonged. You can even buy shockmounts from autoparts stores or use grade 8 bolts.
