ECT sensor?

A defective engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is a possibility. If the ECT sensor tells the PCM the engine is cold when it is actually warm the PCM will set the air to fuel ratio too rich. If you have access to a scanner you can easily read the ECT sensor output to see if it is reasonable. If you don't have a scanner you can measure the resistance via the wires at the disconnected PCM connector and compare the value to those in BrooklynBay's helpful threads: ECT sensor chart
