Yesterday when I got into my X i noticed something funny with the radio. It still works, but there is absolutly no bass at all. I have the 1996 premium stock system. It just sound flat, like a clock radio. I notice this out of all of the speakers, and right now I do not think the sub works at all now. Never had any probs before. What is this? Could my factory amp have bit the dust? Any comments are greatly appriciated!!

Chances are that more than likely it is just a loose wire be it power/ground any of that stuff. If it isn't that, maybe check fuses? I don't know mucu about the factory setups, but maybe there is a fuse in the panel for that, if so that could of blown. Or worst, you may have blown some components in the amp it self.

On Graduation night, I was driving to school, and I had my system cranked, and then the subs stopped, then about 2 seconds later my whole car was engulfed in smoke, the amp was fried, but if something like that didn't happen, it hopefully isn't anything to major. If you have a friend or know anyone that owns or knows a lot about speakers/amps, have them take a look at it, I would say 80% of the time it's something easy to fix.
