Help finding coolant leak?

Great Info :D

For the most part my Sport has followed exactly the same repair problems on schedule that are most talked about on the board, i.e rear springs sagging at 100k mi, 00M12 at 120k mi, bad intake gaskets every 80k mi, timing chain tensioner rattle, 5R55E valve body issue.... etc.

With that in mind I am thinking it definately is the lower thermostat housing, the thing is, that I cannot visabley see any coolant around the bottom of the housing. But there is definately thick goopy coolant build up on the front sway bar that seems to be coming from the right front (passenger side), bottom side of the engine- not exactly where the head gasket is but almost near where the upper oil pan meets the engine.

Looks like the next step is the pressure test. :wavey:

I previously dyed the coolant and gave the thermostat housing a very good going over with the intake tube removed for better visability. Shined the LED flashlight all over and around the upper and lower T housing and no dye anywhere.

Would I be able to see a leak in a cracked T housing or is it underneath somewhere?

did you put the pressure tester on it yet? If not that needs to be your next step to finding the leak. Dave

Yup, I will do that next.

Thanks
