help finding wiring diagram for the headlights

I also have an 01 Explorer Sport (2dr) in which i have HIDs. The passenger side stopped working and i figured the ballast went or the bulb. So until i can get new ones i put some fake HID lookalikes. I go to turn it on and they don't work.
I grab a test light and check to see if its getting power..and its not.
Weird part is that the high beam do work.
So was trying to find the wiring diagram to see if somewhere the wire is cut or something

Unfortunately, I don't have a schematic for 2001, but thought that I would tell you that having one headlight out while the high beam still works is one of the documented failure modes for the MFS (multi function switch) aka turn signal switch. I know that it seems odd that Ford would route the headlight power through the turn signal switch, but its true on the 1st and 2nd gen Explorers.

yeah that deff. sounds weird..going to try to do a search to see what others have done.
Really hoping its something ez to fix, don't really feel start rewiring things

I've got the 00-04 DVD. I don't have a dual layer dvd blank though and am too polluted right now to make an image of it, mount it, and set my computer clock back to a date so the ford software will not say it is expired. Someone remind me and I will get it tomorrow evening.

I've been letting this go for awhile..its time to fix it now.
I started tracing the wire back to inside the truck. The wire for the low beam is blue/green
i looked inside under the dash and w/ the test light it shows power but constant, it does not shut off w/ the switch.
I'm totally confused about it and i'm about to hard wire the passenger side to the driver side low beam and put a fuse and call it a day. Was busy and went to a local shop wanted $120 just to look at the truck, now that i have some time want to fix it.
Any help will be appreciated.

try this. i assumed it was 4wd and not SOHC. didnt kno if it was late production or early production either.

Alldata won't allow you to link to their pictures. You would have to do a screen capture and host it somewhere else. I'm pretty sure they would frown on that as well.

It will show for you because you have the subscription, but it won't show for anyone else - if we right click on it to open the image, it tells us we aren't logged in.

Yep. I thought that it said you aren't logged in, but I was confusing it with something else. The message basically means that they won't allow linking to their image.

Do not hard wire it to the other side. That will likely overload it and blow the fuse.

In the battery junction box, check fuse #38 (10A) for the left headlamp, and fuse 42 (10A) for the right headlamp. The multifunction switch only has one single output for the low beams. It can't cause one headlight not to work. The problem is between the MFS and the headlamps. The only thing worth noting between the two are the fuses, and each headlamp has one. (prevents losing both headlights if one shorts out)

This is interesting Ghoster....i just put those look alike HID bulbs in my headlights and for like one whole day my high beams wouldn't work....anyways i jsut was outside smoking a cig and i happen to check if its working and all of a sudden it works....i think its something to do with a malfunction or a wire problem...or maybe a loose wire...but i dont really know what it is...just though id share that.
