I have to admit, I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. The only plastic I can see on my FPR is the vacuum line attached to it (there shouldn't be any gas in that line at all). Can you clarify where the leak is (a picture might help)?

Mrshorty
sorry if I was vague on the details,
Here is a bit better ,its a 91 explorer EB 4.0,The fuel inlet on the manifold(foe better word?) the Fuel pressure regulator is attached to the manifold, there is a plastic fitting that pops onto the fuel pressure regulater(not a threaded one)
the gas is leaking out of here(not always )

Is this plastic fitting on the aft side of the FPR? That would be the vacuum line to the FPR, and there shouldn't even be gas in that line.

My fuel lines are both braided stainless steel with threaded fittings. One threads onto the driver's side rear of the fuel rail (supply line from the pump), and the other threads onto the top of the FPR (return line to the tank). I don't recall if there were any o-rings in those fittings to leak or not. Your '91 might be different and use push on fittings, I don't know.

Mrshorty,
the inlet fuel line does have a plastic push on fitting,
the Vacum line is on the aft side yes,
I looked at a aerostar of the same year it has the same fitting as mine,
This to me seems like a less than good fitting to a high pressure system?
I am lost ,I do not know if i can change it to a thread LAN ? fitting or not from a newer model say a 92(I did see one at a wrecker here, that has similar set up but was a threaded inlet to the FPR
:confused::confused:
Have a pic of the part but cannot seem to load it here
says to put in a link?
Thanks

AFter I logged off to go to bed last night, I remembered that they used different fittings from time to time. Mine uses a duckbill fitting for the fuel filter that I would guess is the kind of fitting you have at the FPR. From the exploded view in Chiltons of this kind of fitting, there are two o-rings inside the fitting that make the seal. I've never had to do it, so I don't know how hard it is, but you might see if you can figure out just what fitting you have and see if there are o-rings that need changing.

Well I did go to Ford parts, they told me ,that they cannot get the O-rings,I tried several jobber stores with no luck,I also pulled the O-rings out of a aerostar fitting,Still leaks??But not all the time????
Seems to leak more so on initial start up of the Day
This has me flustered,:banghead:

Thanks again
