Ive come across some fords that had issues with the electrical plug in for the sending unit. i know its a hassle but you may want to drop the tank and inspect the connection going into the sending unit. most of the time the culprit is corrosion on the terminal ends and in some cases the plastic casing gets warped and causes a bad read.

Oh yeah thats sounds possible... Didn't think about that thanks man!

Well pulled sender out of tank... took the sender off the assembly and check it with a dvom and the sender has a break in it so I need just the sender.. Does anyone know where I can buy just the sender and not the whole assembly? Thanks

I think you have to buy the whole thing. Go to Napa and see what you can get though.
