WHHOOOOOO!!

Thats the sound it makes!
It seems Bubba Rubb has made it under my hood.

What is that thing called that makes this anoying noise? I know where it is. On 4.0 OHV drivers side of intake. With the little black cap on it.

I need to replace it.

IAC or Idle air control valve.

THANK YOU!

No w I can just clean it right? Instead of replacing it?

I sprayed from O2 safe carb cleaner in mine. The whistling comes back about every 4k miles tho. I guess you could just clean it every oil change.

I was reading some post this morning about how to clean it, I sure if you did a search you could find how to clean it, it sounded pretty easy and by the replies people had it seems to work. Good luck!

I believe the IAC is getting clogged because of a bad PCV valve. Try replacing it and see if this solves your problem. The EGR will send back gunky air if you have a bad PCV valve and this will clog the IAC.

I think this is correct, but I could be completely wrong. I know my PCV valve needs to be replaced and my IAC is getting very dirty quickly.

hmmmmm..

well the pvc is the original and it does have 103k on motor! I just replace PVC and clean IAC!

I had mine replaced under warranty over a year ago and WHOOOO just recently came back. I took the POS off and sprayed throttle body cleaner liberally inside and out of the IAS and it cured it for now. If you had to pay for a new IAS, I'd say your better off just cleaning it annually. Those things cost like $45 or something I think.

No, they cost ~$100 at Ford, $60 delivered from FPN.
