I have an 04 4.0 and I installed a new Dorman harmonic balancer to help with a rough idle issue. Now I am getting random misfire codes (P0300, P0301, P0305). I have brand new plugs and wires (motorcraft) and tested the coil pack.

Do I have to replace the Crankshaft sensor for the new balancer?

Is there a way to adjust the sensor?

Thanks for the help

Crank sensor is the same. Compair the length of the old spark plug to the new spark plug. Also check for intake leak could be sucking air. Also check orings on injectors.

The updated dorman/ford balancers have a pretty fragile tone ring for the crank sensor. Some of them get bent in shipping/handling. Some also came with faulty ones. Check it out.
