ok, i have my fog lights wired into my parking lights, so when I turn my headlights on, the foglights come on too. well untill recently. now my parking lights, including my back lights and interior lights (theyre all on the same switch) wont come on. only my headlights will.. this is the second headlight switch/wiring harness Ive been through. am I overloading the harness/switch or is there an inline fuse somewhere that is blown? If I need to get another fuse, what is the stock ampage, and what size should I get so that this doesnt happen again. those damn switches or $20 bucks a pop. Help!!!!!!

Do you have your fog lights getting power directly from the parking lights or through a relay? If it's through a relay then this shouldn't happen. However, I'm guessing you're overloading the circuit and either need to use a relay or; if you're already using a relay move the fogs to a totally separate circuit with a switch.

nope its not on a relay. so i guess I gotta get a new switch and spend a sunday afternoon rewiring my fogs, huh. damn

If it's not on a relay yet, then you don't need to rewire that much to make it work.

Take the 2 wires off the splice and run them to the relay in place of the switch, then just run power from the battery and a ground to the relay. There, all fixed once you replace whatever blew.

Hey alec, I know this might be asking to much, but is there anyway you can draw me what that will look like, I cant visualize it. if not dont worry about it, but if you could i would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know if this will help much!

I had a problem with my Headlights. Everything else worked (lights), just sometimes, NO headlights & at the same time No wipers or Radio. They would work then not work.

After some help from a shop here he told me to change the Blinker/Wiper switch somehow it all works together. Hope it helps!

This should be correct. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

well i rewired my lights but i broke down and just wired them to a switch in my cab. then I went to go buy the headlight wiring harness assembly, and guess what!! they discontinued them for my truck, so now I gotta go to a junkyard and find a wrecked X and rip out the assembly. fun stuff. the good news is that maybe I can find some other cool stuff for my x while Im there. I dunno.

did you try torrie at www.fordpartsnetwork.com ? or did you try to source it locally?

Did you check your parking light fuse? I checked mine, thought it was fine, but it wasn't. I had to look at it with a magnifying glass to see the break in it. But I discovered that after I replaced the headlight switch and nothing happened. Mine use to blow all the time because I had a short in the wire from the parking lamps to the switch somewhere.
