I am in the process of rebuilding my A4LD valve body and the only 2 parts I cannot find online is the governor (or parts of it) and the reverso servo piston/cover/lip seals. Does anyone know of a place I can order these from?

Thanks!

There are 3 kinds of seals that are available for the low/reverse servo piston. The regular seals are rubber O rings. They make a double wiper rubber seal, and the Transtec viton seal kit. That kit contains both seals, and is a tighter fit. I recommend that kit.

I just placed an order with TransmissionPartsUSA for everything BUT the reverse servo piston and seals because I could not find them on their site. The only pistons they listed under servos were all Intermediate/OD type. As for the other place you listed Acerecon, they show the parts with part numbers but how do you order from them? They don't list prices so I assume they are the manufacturer and only deal with dealers etc... Can you just call them up on the 800 number and get prices and place an order?

Thanks again for all your help!!!

Just give them (Aceomatic) a call (800/999-5590), they are very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a part from them and got it next day via UPS from NJ.

Ok now I feel stupid! I can't believe I didn't find that on their site when I placed my order.

I am replacing the pistons and covers on the other 2 servos already, do you guys think that changing the seals on the reverse servo will be ok or should I order the piston and cover for that as well?

Thanks!

Just replace the seals. Did you order the ZC piston (largest size), and cover for the other pistons?

No, I was going by Glacier's rebuild thread on the valve body and I just ordered the AA & AB sized pistons since that is what was in the tranny from the factory correct? I saw they had oversized pistons but wasn't sure if I had to do some machineing to get them to fit? Please excuse my ignorance to most of this since I am not a tranny tech and just picked up on it from this site. I did alot of engine work before but never took the time to understand an automatic transmission. Some of the posts on here are outstanding in explaining stuff and it looks doable to me to do a valve body job myself and save $800. The tranny doesn't have OD and is starting to take awhile shifting into the other gears.

What benefits would I get by using a larger piston for the servos? By just replacing them with the same sized ones hurt it in any way?

You get a more positive band engagement with the larger pistons, since there is more hydraulic fluid filling, and releasing them. There is no harm using the stock sizes. Glacier did discuss these pistons in a couple of threads if you want to read up on them.
