Help me, few questions

I have a 94 xlt with what i believe to be the premium system. I have an alpine mp3 h/u that my buddy and i tried to install, but one of the connectors on the harness didnt connect to anything in the dash, is there some kind of amp? should i just take it to best buy?


second, what the hell size speakers are in this thing, the front two are blown

First off, there are a couple of different harnesses for the ford, Wal-Mart ususally has them all in stock. My bro has a '97 Ranger, My Ex is a '98, turned out they took different harnesses, just double check the model harness you have, I know for a fact there are 2 that say they fit these vehicles, but only one does. The speakers are all 5x7/6x8s, depending on the manufacturer. There the same size speaker, and they pretty much all fit, it's just a matter of how generously the manufacturer cares to list the size.

I also have a 94 xlt. Replaced the head unit and all 4 speakers. I used 5x7's up front and 6x8 in back. I got my wiring harness from pepboys and it works fine, if i recall correctly then there were like 2 or 3 wires i didnt hook up from the harness. I think they were all orange though. But I have a sony head unit so that might be why. Im pretty sure 6x8's will fit in the front as well as the back but not 100%. Go to bestbuy.com they have all the sizes for each vehicle or go to Crutchfield.
