I want to find some wheels that will fit my 31X10.5X15 tires that are on my X. I want somthing with more offset so they stick out just a tad further than now. I cant seem to find anything I like so throw me some ideas and help me figure out which wheels would look the best.

Heres a pic of my X to give you somthing to go off of.

Search for info on rockcrawlers.

I would go with a 15x8 but not sure of the offset. I like the looks ofthe Eagle 589's (that is what I have but are 15x7) Mickey Thompson Classic II's, American Outlaws (it is a solid aluminum wheel) if they still make them.
If you want to get an idea go to Chux Trux and look at some they have but buy else where because they will break it of in your:mattmoon: with their prices.
The best prices can be found at Summit Racing www.summitracing.com or 4 Wheel Parts www.4wheelparts.com.

i have m/t classic 2's with 3 and 5/16 backspacing i can send you some pics of the way they stick out if you would like. just give me your addy or email me.

Hey whats up guys, sorry to budge in but I am going to order some black rockcrawlers tomorrow and I am going to be running 32X11.5X15r BFG Mudterrains. Im not a rim expert and I am not sure af the backspacing and stuff like that. Matt

3.75" is a good all-around backspacing for 8" wide rims on Explorers.

hey alec so should I get 15x8 5 lug w/3.75" backspacing
rockcrawlers and Im going to be running stock tires at first and 32's in the summer

that'll work, lug pattern is 5 on 4.5

just make sure you get 5 on 4.5 for the bolt spacing. And (like Alec said) 3.75" BS is about the universal number for aftermarket wheels on X's.

Blast! Beaten again! Alec, I can never respond quicker than you! ;)

And just out of curiousity, does anyone know how much a 15x8 rock crawler weighs? I would like to get the stance and the sturdy steel rim, but I don't want to put on a whole lotta unsprung weight (which could kill mileage and acceleration)

I'm sure sometime in the next 3 weeks you'll be able to. Happens I'm at my apt now with broadband, but will be at my parent's with dial-up for a while.

what about 4.5" back spacing. I cant find ones with 3.75".

or is that too wide. Dont want em to stick out that much with 32's

If I understand BS correct... 4.5 BS will actually have the wheel in closer to the vehicle than 3.75 will... Alec care to correct/beat me with a reply? ;)

yup, the higher the bs number, the farther in the wheels mount. Stock bs is 4.5". With offroad tires, that is usually too far in and you'll rub on suspension components.

Farther in, more risk of rubbing on suspension and inner fender.

Farther out, more risk of rubbing on body.

IMO it's better to rub on body than chassis or suspension.

So what about 15x7" 5 on 4.5" w/3.75" backspacing. Is there a big difference betwen 15X7 and 15X8. Which is reccommended. Should I do those?

If I were getting new wheels, I would get 15x8. This will allow more flexibility later on down the road. (IE with different tires sizes and widths... you're factory rims are 15x7 ~ more width is always a good thing on a lifted truck)

15x7 is fine for stock tires or 31s, also debatedly for 32x11.50s. 15x8 will work with any of those and also 33x12.50 and 35x12.50.

3.75" BS is the standard. You should be able to find anywhere, if not just call that dealer, they've got them. Manufactures don't make a lot of options for the 5x4.5 bolt pattern.
