I have it down to these three and I will be getting them as 17's. What do you guys think would look better on a 93 Sport? Thanks for any input.

I like the bottom "Cobra" looking rim.

If anything, get 18's. They would look sweet. Everyone is different I understand, but if it was up to me I would slap on some 20's. I like the first picture. It's different. Not as common as the everyday corbra rims

go with the cobras i think they look nicer and are probably way cheaper than the roh rims i know from experience that the cobra 17 are a good rim i used to work @ an America's Tire Company store in Union City CA about a year ago not to dis rohs or anything but i have never seen on a truck only ricers they may not be strong enough to support an explorer

ROH does make those rims to fit on SUV's but only in 17's. If I could I would try to squeeze a set of 20's on but I want to keep a semi-decent ride and still have it look nice. Thanks for everyones input, keep it coming!

Get 18s man, the ride is not that much different, and the appearance is much better. if you go off road, stay with 17s. And I like the 1st ones too.

Well, I think the cobras have sorta a bad ass muscle style to them, but I think those other two are kick ass as well....In fact I like em a bit more for a street machine because they are different! 4Wheelin...I take it you do wanna make a street machine correct?
Pete

I don't really go offroading that much except for through the occasional field of snow so basically it is a street machine. I would go with 18's but my wheel wells are small so the 17's pretty much take up the space. I was just thinking, Am I going to have problems with the four wheel drive in my car and fitting these on?

my 18s dont affect my 4wd at all. As far as the wheel well space, you should be ok if you go with 255/55/18 tires. With the 17s, its true you can get more rubber under there.

My hubs stick out in my rims past the bolts. Does anyone know what I am talking about? It is kind of hard to explain and the rims I have now are the teardrop ones. I am afraid that this will cause a problem.

Bill Kemp- DO you have any pics of your truck?

Ryan, I just bought a scanner and my daughter hasnt shown me how to use it yet. Just sent one to Rick today for the elliet(sp) explorer thing. In short, no.
I was going to go with the 17" cobra rims but I couldnt pass up a deal on the 16" Ford "tri-bar" wheels. I still like the looks of the cobra and the "mag" type also.

Ryan, the Cobra wheels are awesome. BTW, have you also considered the Stillen wheels? I've seen an Expedition equipped with the Stillen wheels and it looks awesome! I have no doubt that it would look good in an Explorer too.

I love the Cobra's. I can't see the 2nd one, but the cobras' look great. Are they the one's from oemfordparts.com? They have great prices for the 17x8. Let us see some pics when you get them.

They are the ones from http://www.gefracing.com and the second ones look like the first ones but the spokes are a little thicker.

It's hard to tell but I think they are different because the ones you posted look like the original Cobra-R's.

The ones that I am thinking of getting the ones where the spokes bend out a little.

Ryan-
I know what you mean about the hubs sticking out... do you have manuals or the factory autos? if you've got manuals I don't see how you could make it work with any of the rims you're looking at. if you still have autos you might be able to work some kind of crazy spacer arrangement, but I'm not even sure about that... I know, it's hard to have a respectable looking "sport truck" with big, fat 4x4 hubs sticking out of your $1500 rims :)

I'm hoping someone else who knows more than me will pick this discussion up from here, 'cuz I'm about out of technical knowledge :)

good luck! (my vote is for the first set, BTW... sucks that we have drums in the back, though)

Aaron

I really don't care about the hubs sticking out, that's not a big deal to me and they are factory auto hubs. I think I am starting to lean towards the Cobra-R's because I think they would look a lot smoother and cleaner on my truck and it would look more like a sport truck instead of a ricer.

i like that choice too i thimk what someone was asking was that WILL the hubs even fit through the small center cap opening? i know that truck specific rims have very large centerbores to do just that but im not sure a truck hub will fit through a car rims centerbore

I'd go with the first ones, too many people already have the cobra-r's...I don't but personally I don't like to feel like I copied anyone or for anyone to think that. I'd suggest going with the 18's too....
