HELP ME PLEASE

Not to long ago I had the torsion bar shackle lift done on my 96. The guys at the shop turned them up all the way. My truck sits perfectly level. I love the new look. The only problem is, when i went to put it in auto 4wd today, all i heard was this clunking up front coming from the area around my front wheels. Also it felt like it never fully engaged. I am really lucky that I could get out in 2wd. I was in some pretty thick, deep mud. I am thinking that if i turn down the torsion bars it will fix my problem. Any suggestions?? Do i have a serious problem, or should that fix it?? If so, how much?
