HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I was under the hood today and i notice a cable with a connector on it sticking up. I look as if something was suppose to screw on to it but i did not see any loose cables hanging. This is a 98 x sport. The connecter to was to the left of the oil cap. I took a picture of it but dont know how to import the pic into the post. Can someone please tell me what that is and if something is suppose to connect to it.

Here ya go bane. I would guess your engine is an SOHC?

That is your fuel pressure relief valve. It normally has a plastic valve cap on it. Go take one off a bicycle and put it on the end of the valve so dirt doesn't get in it or someone doesn't press the valve releasing fuel all over your engine.

Get some Gunk brand engine cleaner or that Purple degreaser they sell at auto parts stores. Spray it all over the engine real good. Then start the X and hose it off. Should clean it up real nice, if you're really picky you can take an old toothbrush and brush off any really thick deposits.
