i have done some researching on these engines and my explorer its planted in. i have some plans for it but nothing over the top... i just wana end up with a good running dd, trail and some occasional light towing rig...
as of now my 4.0ohv needs an oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets. thts it other than a ticking noise. it runs fine as is. i jus want address the main problems for now...
i have done some researching on the 4.0lohv v6 and there are a few performance mods offered for it.. im thinking stock short block with some good ported heads, full exhaust with headers, and any other supporting mods to make it run well. i am still researching.. i may consider a small cam but my over all goal is for a decent dd with decent mpg's.
any opinions, advice and or tips from experience will be greatly appreciated.
