OK Here is my problem we are towing a 18' camp trailer across Wyoming and all of the sudden my instrument panel went dead, the cruse control continued to work but I panicked and turned it off. I still had the power steering and breaks but no lights on the trailer or truck. The throttle response was also strange it would just rev then die repeatedly with the peddle half depressed, witch allowed us to make it to an exit (~1 mile).

Once we coasted to a stop in the gas station parking lot it would not start or even crank. I checked the battery and all fuses with a circuit tester and all passed. After sitting for about 15 minutes the car started back up but showed the same symptoms and stalled out within 5 minutes.

The conditions out side today have been bitterly cold with a high of 3 degrees and this all happened after 6 hours of flawless driving.

Other info, the fuel pump died on me on Saturday so I had it and the filter replaced as well as the spark plugs and wires. The battery is less then a year old and oil was changed about 200 miles ago. It is a 2004 NBX v6 with ~120k on it

The road side stop I'm at has a garage for tractors but they are unwilling to help me in any way, I even sent my girlfriend in first. No Luck. Its 65 miles to the closed town that could help and I don't want to get stranded and have to pay even more to have the camper towed as well.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to taking the time to look at this.
Matt

sounds like an alternator.

considering brakes and steering is manual assist not electrical, the lose of lights, stumbling, and all sounds a bad alternator.

does it charge with a dvom?

Unfortunately I don't have a volt meter I was able to barrow one form another motorist but had to give it back. And can't find one to purchase here.

I figured it might be the alternator. I noticed once I got the car started back up the battery light came on when the RPM was under 1000 but went off once above 1000. Also now the check engine soon light is on.

Lastly I was able to get the codes pulled (thanks Bill!). I have a P2106 "Throttle actuator control system-forced limited power".

This just gets better and better...

May still be due to the alt.
