Hey guys, I really need some help. I have a trip to Vermont, this weekend, for the holidays to go visit family, and suddenly my headlights stopped working!!

I didn't panic, I checked all the fuses, and relays and they all work, so I figured might be the Headlight switch in the dash, I had bought an extra one, and so I replaced it, and gave the lights a shot, but still no headlights!

My parking lights and fog lights come on, with no problem, but my headlights do not work. I checked the bulbs and their fine. The only way to get the lights to work is to pull back on the turn signal shaft, to get the passing/headlight flash to come on. Then the high beams come on, but as soon as I release the shaft the lights turn off again. And if I push it into the high beam position nothing happens. I'm thinking it is the multifunction switch, but I have never replaced one, even though I heard it was a cake job.

I want to grab the switch out of junk, because the Ford dealers here are closed for the holidays, but I need to know what it looks like, and how to install it. Really more what it looks like, I can figure the rest out myself. PLEASE HELP!!

sounds like your dimmer switch went kafooie. I wouldn't think that it would be to hard to change out, can't say for sure I have never had to change mine. I hope this helps you out some though.

did that

I change the dimmer switch, it's brand new, I need to know how to swap out the one in the steering column. The one in the Turn Signal stalk

You will have to take the cover off the steering wheel first then its just a couple of bolts.

I've had the EXACT same problem with my lights for about 5 months now. My quick fix involves duct tape and high beams when it gets dark. It's got to be the switch in the column... How did you fix it? Was it easy? How much was the switch? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

i think the switch is around $60 or so. very simple and fast install. i hope that fixes your problem
