I'm gonna change the tranny fluid on the wifes X soon, currently it has 93,000 miles. While I have the pan down, should I install a traditional valve body shift kit, or should I install the B&M Electronic Shift Improver?? I heard the you shouldn't install a shift kit on a tranny with over 60,000 miles, but I NEED to firm up the shifts on this thing they are way to mushy. Please give me some advice!!

You can install both. I have an internal kit as well as the electronic one. I mostly keep the electronic one on the stock setting, but it's nice to be able to firm the shifts up even more when I need to.

yea, i plan on doing both also. get the Baumann kit, and go with the B&M controller. then you can have slightly firm shifts with the controler on the stock setting, and flip the switch over to 2 for hard shifts.

hey, how much of a difference do you guys think the "firmer shifts" option in my hypertech is making? would that play nice with the b and m when both were supposed to work together to modify the shifts of my baumann kitted tranny?

btw- get the baumann for sure, its the best mod i've done man.

I didn't feel much difference when I put my Hypertech chip back in; but I did feel it when I had it in there 2 years ago without other tranny mods. In short, it plays nice ;)

thats assuming the chip and the pp3 behave in the same way. but i would think that they will. i'm just not sure it will even help to get the b&m though since it shifts real nice already. i want to know what james thinks about the set-up before i order anything.

if youve got the chip/programmer and the baumann, i wouldnt bother with the B&M controller. the B&M didnt really make it shift like a kit, it just made it shift like it SHOULD HAVE from the factory. youre on stage 3 of the baumann, right? just go to stage 4 if you want it a little firmer.

alright then, i guess that makes sense. i just think it would be cool to be able to go into "race" mode! but thats not really necessary unless it would be meaningful.

yea, the B&M is nice and all, and i really like it. But it really just makes it shift like it should fromt he factory. I am planning on gettin the Bauman for Chanukah this year.
