On Sports do you need to remove exhaust to drop the transmission Pan?
I have got it all apart and don't want to remove the exhaust as the bolts are rusted welded on.
I have disconnected the driveshaft at the trnasfer case but still don't really have enough room to remove the pan
Any tips to doing this or should I remove the exhaust from the driver side headers down?>?>

thanks this

...i don't have the answer but you might try izwack... at least it's a bump for you...;)

sports sohc, drop the front driveshaft and it should be able to slide off or come off thats what me & justin did on lindsy's 98 long time ago.

I undid the drive shaft at the transfer case. and moved it out of the way toward the drivers side frame and don't see how the pan would be able to come off.
it's hitting on the catch tube and on the drivers side bank cat right before it crosses over.

I may have dent the exhaust up while wheeling but I don't see any damage or impact marks

did lindsey have an aftermarket exhaust? if so maybe she had more clearance because of it.

still don't know what I'm gonna do
maybe jack the transfer case and trans up by undoing the transmount. just an inch or so
also can you undo the trans crossmember and not effect the torsion bars.
will the truck still stand on it's own or does the crossmember help distribute the weight?

...i don't have the answer but you might try izwach...
Sounds like a sasquatch :D

Yeah try jacking up the transmission a bit, you may gain a fraction of an inch - enough to slide the pan out of the way.

...fixed iz, i swear i don't do that on purpose, lol....:D

got the pan out.
by jacking the trans up and loosening the exhaust enough for it to droop down a lil bit
that sucked
