hi i have a 93 automatic and for some reason when i step on the gas and it tacks at a high rpm and stays there for a while, a really horrible sounds starts. its kind of like taking a hammer to a pole really fast. but its only when it stays at an rpm for a while. people at autozone say "spark knocking" and they say the way to fix it is to run better quality gas.. well.... i have tried that and hasent helps one bit... any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

1.Clean MAF
2.Re-torque lower intake manifold bolts
3.Run a bottle of seafoam through the engine, then run at 3500 rpm's on the highway for 5-10 minutes.

Do not run 93 octane in an attempt to fix it.

If all of those suggestions fail, then post back and we'll see what else can be done.

thanks

thanks for the fast reply and i will try that on tuesday since stores will mos likely be closed tomorrow
