I just obtained a 1998 Exploder XLT w/the 5.0, AWD

She has a couple of issues I'm trying to sort out...I've identified most of it, however one is eluding me.

It's in the front end somewhere...It's completely intermittent and rarely happens...However, when it does, it's quite noticeable.

What happens is when moving from a stop you hear, "tink...tink...tink" it's definitely metal hitting metal...As you increase in speed it increases in speed and gets louder.

I was up to about 35mph and when I jerk the wheels hard to the left and right the noise goes away...Straighten up again and it comes back.

I stopped, put her in reverse for about 15ft, then back into drive...It started making the noise again and then just disappeared.

CV's seem in great shape...I've got her on the rack now, was just curious if someone else has experienced anything identical?+

:wtf:

Thanks!
