OK guy's i need your advice on which tires to get. I have a few I am looking at, some a bit pricey and some about average, i just want your imput on what you would do.

I do alot of highway driving, at least 300-450 miles a week. I am looking at 32" tires. I want the tire to look somewhat mildly aggressive to highly aggressive. And perform well off road, in mainly sand and mud, i don't play in the rocks. Here is what i have looked at so far in order of preference

32X11.5 BFG AT/KO $596.39 Installed
31X11.0 Thornbird $649 Installed
32X10.5 Super Swamper TSL/Radial $626 Installed
32X11.5 Super Swamper SSR $ 816.63 Installed (177 a piece)

Thats what i have looked at so far, if anyone else has any suggestions or comment as to whichi should get, all your help would be appreciated! I am keeping a tally of everyone's reccomendations!

Reggie

get the bfgs... they are in my opinion the best all around tire.... that is about the hiway mileage i put on mine... i have 4k on mine and they still look new other than being brown cuase i never clean them or the car....

i think the rest will not yield as good on road and the mileage of the kos will def outlast the others

Thanks for the quick reply (like 2 mins), lol, you must just be sitting at work monitoring this site or something, LOL. Just messin with ya man!

yup...exactly what i do all day

I agree with the BFG's, or look into the Coopers that I am using... they are great for all around driving (including the HWY).

As for soound, the BFG's creat more of a "slapping" sound on the pavement, and the Coopers create more of a constant humm.

Here is the link to the Coopers. They are a little less expensive than the others.

don't feel bad, mee too

BFG's

Xactly what Jim said , the others look more aggressive , well they are , but they wear faster to . I've looked into the others and the best milage was about 30k , BFG's should give you 50k . Remember the more aggressive the tire , the harder it is to balance and the shake and noise will be worse (Bfg at ko's are bad enough) . You might want to look at the NEW BFG Mudders , all new design , a little more $$$ but they look killer and should still outlast the Tsl's ..

BFG AT/KO! very nice tire.

BFGs get more miles than most. i love em. i love the office job. i have gotten info from jimabena74 on my 4wd problem, talked to somebody else about fitting 33's, a bunch of info on body lifts again. man i love going to work its the only time i can get on teh internet. my wife is always looking at home and garden mess and chatting with her friends. i go outside and play trucks with my son. okay im rambling. sorry.

BFG but hell there are others that work pretty good too.

OK, this is what i have so far.

BFG's- 5 people
and splash said something about generals or coopers, there is no cooper dealership around here, but sears carries generals, so ill look into that price.

those are the Cooper tires that i have on my explorer.
i've put about 20,000+ miles on them since November, and they still have great tread. the ride is great, and the traction is much better than the firestones that were on it before.

Yomie, you should start a poll for tires you've narrowed it down to.

I would vote BFG, I'm 30x9.50 BFG Mud Terrains and love them. Great off-road and decent on the Hwy.
