Basically you just start un-doing everything until the engine is no longer plumbed or wired to the car. Then undo the exhaust, engine mounts, trans bellhousing bolts, etc.
First time plan an entire weekend. I had it to where I could pull my 4.0L in about 6 hours by myself after doing it a few times.
You might try Mustang forums, should be similar.
But this is not rocket science, a 5.0L is pretty straight forward.
I think 410 pretty much said it all. One more thing I will add, make sure when you pull it out you have something to catch all the fluids that will leak out.
ah yes they WILL leak out, no matter how much you drain coolant and ATF will find a way out.....I had a HECK of a mess just the other day in fact and I am now in need of an entire new collection of shop rags (old clothes), I collect them like crazy and that spill took my whole box.
