Reuse the bolts from the old shocks?

I talking about the thing that is going through the hole in the shock, is that what you are talking about

Did you order the correct shocks?

Your description is vague, please post a pic(s) so we can better assist you.

Look on the 2nd and 5th picture that he shows on the installation, I don't have anything going through the loop on the bottom of the shock to bolt the shock on. I think it should have came with something already through it. does that help?

I don't have an exact pic. Let's use the aftermarket rear shock i bought for example, the shock when you look at it has a hole on both ends of it used for mounting. You can put a bolt through it on the bottom end and it will fit just fine. Ok, now when it comes to the top end of the shock, there is no way to attach the shock to the explorer. THat is my problem. I Hope and PRay that helps.

Is this what you are talking about?

Your questions are hard to understand, but this one sounds like you're talking about the round rubber-like bushing?

Those are the bolts, I will reuse them off my old shocks. My problem is I cant attach the two bolts that connect to the frame to the shock. THere is nothing on the shock to attach them to. All I have is a hole through the shock and nothing going through the hole that allows the two bolts to attach to the frame. THe folks at 4wheelparts must have send me the wrong shocks. I appreciate your help aldive.

yes huskyfan23. I dont have mechanic terminology.

I am sorry, but your descriptions are so vague, I have no clue what you are talking about.

Just post a pic of the shock in question.

just forget about it guys, I 'll figure it out.

Does your shock look like this? Just look at the mounting parts.

NOTE: this pic is not the rear shock you need. I could not find a pic. The top part where the "bolt" is going through is a flat plate with two holes in it for the upper mounting bolts.

yes but with nothing going through it at the top like that one does. Both holes look exactly the same

Are you saying that the top of the shock and the bottom of the shock look the same?

A pic would really help.

yes

Not any clearer to me, sorry.

However, if the top and bottom of the shock look the same, you have the wrong shocks.
