HELP.. strange noice from my Explorer.

Okay, well here are the only two things I can find wrong (I had 00M12 done on my last visit to dealership, o-rings and tensioner) I have a bad oil send unit, and my IAC might be going bad. Cleaned the MAF and IAC, helped a little.

I still get the rattling at around 2750 rpms up to 3100, mostly in 2nd and 3rd gears. I dont THINK it happens when the car isnt in gear... not that I can hear at least. I was thinking mabey something about the driveshafts being out of alignment or something? I've never heard of people having that, but hey, some people say it happens.

If I can I'm replacing my Oil send unit ASAP, and if I can get some extra $$$ I will get a new IAC... if need be.

I'll try and get a laptop and mic in my car to record the sound, but IDK how a mic will pic it up when my engine is revving up. Ohh well, any ideas are appreciated... and mabey if it takes alot of getting your hands dirty to replace the OSU, I'll just take it to our pretty dang good ford dealership, sit one in the car, and take him for a spin... who knows!

Well some update on my X-rapair..

ive hade it at the dealers now for 4 week+ and not a word from em.....

Ive seen they have worked on it like 1 or 2 weeks hmmm isnt that a bit long?

In the pappers for 00M12 and 01m01 it says that 00m12 is 8h work and 01M01 is 3 h??

Well its fun don't have any car for 4 weeks over the x-mas hollyday../Sigh

Well as long i get my damn X back and its as new again iam ok. (And it dosent cost me anything.. )

Well now it has been 6 weeks and 3 days and the Ford Dealer called me..

The car is fixed but they have #¤#% up the alarm so they can't start the car. /sigh

they now have to reprogram the key and alarm....

iam starting to think I should hade bought that Blazer i was looking at. /duck

6 WEEKS AND 3 DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!! men were they using you Ex as a rental !!!!!!!! I have never seen a car sta that long a dealer or a garage unless it`s getting a body new paint and a engin overhaul !! even that too long !! is there only 1 mechanic there !!!!! freak out men freak out !!!!!! almost 2 months !!!! I can`t even let my Ex more than 2 or 3 hours and the job as to be finished or else !!

Sweede, was yours a new cam chain tensioner? Thats what I got from the same rattle... and it is costing me $1300. They have had my explorer since Saturday morning, and told me it would be back today. Well I called today, and the asst. service manager was a total b***ch and was unhelpful, other than telling me that it *might* be done tomorrow. IDK how the forign dealerships are, but 6 weeks?! You need to call ford customer service in your area and tell them! It's bullcrap, you are being had.
Let me know how your ripoff 'repair' went, I wanna know if it goes like mine.

Ive got contacked with Ford Sweden like 10 times now and thay say there is nothing to do abought the time.

BUT they promised me that the repair wouldent cost me 1 $ It all gona be free of charge.

And the Ford Dealer called me 10 min ago and told me that they gona get me a new Alarm for free, so as son as they have installed it I can get my X.

Ill post when i get my X and say how it runns aso...

Well finally i got my X back..Well the sound is gone BUT I still have some ratteling when iam standing still with the car ..

the dealer told me I thought it was the chain in the back of the engin that did that sound..

So now I wounder what would it cost to fix this??
And is there any way i could get Ford to do this for free to??

My car is : Ford Explorer -97 80000 Km V6 SOCH

Any help would be nice..
