Ok, so here-goes; for about the last 2-3 months, I have been driving my truck with some odd problems, the shift times and and engine is all off. The overdrive dosent kick in anymore, and all of the shift points seem to be very high. I took it to a respectable tranny shop, and the guy took it for a test drive, immediatly he said it was an engine problem and before he could even LOOK into the tranny, then engine would HAVE to be fixed. SO; 2 days ago, I was sitting at a redlight, and I have some subs in the back that were on, and they kind of drain the battery, so I did the brake gas trick to keep the alternator up to speed to keep it charged, and the light turned green, so I let off of the brake, and hit the gas hardenough to accelerate, well....the engine revved up accelerated, and suddenly the RPMs dropped off and the truck nearly dies in the middle of the road... And now there is an odd, baglike sound coming from underneath. I get to 40mph, and I go to pass someone, obviously hitting the gas harder, and the truck dosent seem to pull, and theres that sound, its horrible, and when its audible, the truck nearly dies....everytime... I replaced the plugs and wires (people say it works sometimes) no-go. Dosent do anything, so heres the questions:
What is the sound?
How do i fix it?
Can I adjust idle speed a LITTLE higher?
Is it low fluid levels somewhere?
