Last year my dad and i tried the Walmart r12 to r134 conversion, which ended up disasterously, apparetnly we didn't totally evacuate the old system and ended up locking up the compressor.
Ok this year i plan i replacing all the parts myself and then taking it to a shop to have them recharge. My question is what parts do i need to replace and what parts have to be new?
Im getting a used compressor, But all the shops ive talked to have given me slightly differnt parts to replace,
Accumulater, condensor, dryer, evaporator, and orafice tube. Now i think that some of these are the same thing, like, Accumulator/dryer, but im not sure.
So my question is, what do i need to replace? Can just use a Used Accumulator/dryer or do i need a new one? I think that by taking off the compressor and replacing a few hoses, should definatly evacuate the system. Any help?
I just don't want to spend the money on a compressor and other parts and have it lock up on me again. THnx
