You might want to try Autometers online site. You have to make sure that you also have the right guage for your truck. The guage measures resistance or Ohms as the float travels up or down. But some guages the more Ohms the less gas and some the more Ohms the more gas.
So first of all if your not sure what guage you have just click in the info for your truck and that site should give you all the instructions you need.
Also I have called their tech line and they can be very helpful.
I installed another year sending unit in my Bii tank and they helped me to get it calibrated right.
Also I would make sure that you have a good clean grounding spot.
