I have a '95 explorer and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on some good mods to do. I have no clue what i want to do with it, but i know that i am going to get some new speakers and an amp and some subs this weekend. But i want to do mods on the outside. Please help with some suggestions! Here are some pics of my explorer!

what about for external mods? what are some good things to get?

do you want a street look or an off road look ?

off road look! any suggestions?!?

If you're going for a street type look, chrome rims look sweet with a darker color truck like yours. I would go anywhere in the 18"-22" inch region. That way it remains tasteful. Diamond cut headlights, clear corners, sylvania silverstars cover the headlights. For tail lights, I think a couple coats of VHT nightshades looks a lot better and classier than altezzas. I don't know if you have subs or if you like subs. I have a JL audio 8w0 8" inside a Q Logic custom fit box. These boxes are made to fit in your cargo area/stock sub area. I run it with a small 200 watt pioneer amp, and I get all the bass I really need. That's only if you want to keep your sub out of the way, but still want your sound to be good. Replace the door speakers. I put Infinity Reference 6800's in mine, and they sound fantastic. Sound deaden as you see fit. Just a few suggestions, buddy.

whoa, nevermind what i just said...haha sorry

i like what you said that sounds like that would be really nice! I am going to check out those products! Thanks

off road look? you gotta couple options

3 inch body, which will be better for just getting "the look" as well as getting you some good clearence

Wheelparts will install a body lift for 600 dollars, you can do it yourself for 100 dollars... id rather re-gear then do a body lift myself =)

After a 3" lift you can fit some 32's under there, maybe 33"s but you might wanna do a little fender trimmin for 33's

Rockcrawler 15x8 on 3.75 back spacing would probably be what you want. only 50 bucks a rim

Kumho, Cooper tire/Futura (pep boys) make some pretty cheap off road tires. i got the Kumhos and i've been very happy with them

Don't forget about exhaust. I like the magnaflow sound around town and is quiet on highway. I have dynomat throughout though.

Lift it and throw on some 32s!

sounds like a plan! thanks alot for the suggestions! How much do you think all of that would cost? like lift tires and exaust....is there something else that i am missing if i actually wanted to go "off-roading"???? i am sure there is alot more...haha

Whoa! That's crazy talk! Offroading with offroad tires?! ;) The BL would cost around $100 if you did it yourself. Tires.. what kind? All-terrain? Mud-terrain? Tirerack.com has the best prices. BFG is a popular choice. You're looking at around $120 a tire. You'll need an alignment. If you get serious about offroading you'll want a bigger lift, bigger tires, lower gearing, lockers, and so on. That gets real expensive real quick.

yep your gonna need a lot of ****... here ill list everthing in the Cheapst possible way i can be

Body lift : $100 dollars

Tires : 32x11.5 Kumho Venture MT $96 each

Rims : 15x8 x 4.45 backspacing $48 each

Gears/Lockers : 4wheel parts have packages from $1000-$3000 depending on what you want

Best option for if you are on a budget?

Gears : $350 dollars for 4.10/4.33/4.56 motive gears front and rear

Lockers : $550 for powertrax lunchbox locker front and rear

you probably want to get the gears and lockers installed somewhere

Add $300-$600

thats a pretty close estimate

you probably gonna spend atleast 2 grand... but expect to pay more cuz your gonna want an air intake, and a muffler, and nice new procomp shocks and new bushings, and a paint job and a throttle body, and a throttle body spacer that your gonna like for 2 days till you realized you paid 100 bucks for nothing and you will want some tint and a system and then your gonna need some oil, cuz ya need an oil change, and dont forget after awhile all those new toys = more gas needed to play with!!

cars = a lot of money

i wish i didnt own one! haha but i luff my explorer... i spend more money on it then i do my girlfirend(s)!!

ok cool thanks for your suggestions! I am going to look into this more now!
