i have a 98 sport 2wd with the stock rims on 30's and stock height...

ive had it for quite some time and im looking into lifting it a little and puttin some new tires and wheels on it...

i just need some suggestions on some good combinations to go with for a nice clean look and im also trying to keep it kind of inexpensive...

thanks for any help guys!

Well the cheapest way to lift your X would be the TT/Shackles for about 2". Then you can get some 31's and it would look good. What size tires were you looking at getting, if you tell us that then we can tell you exactly what you need to do.

sorry 98sport, dont mean to bust into your post but i was wondering what is involved in the TT/Shackles? Texplorer: you said cheapest around how much? i was just wondering cause lifting my x is in the near future

Well you cant do the TT/Shackles because you dont have torsion bars, you have the TTB front suspension. You have to do coil spacers and shackles, which gives you the same amount of lift. All you have to get are the F-150 front coils and warrior shackles for the rear. I am not sure on how much the coils are but the shackles will run you about $50.

i was looking to get something thats a lot more noticable then the ones i have on there now...

but i dont think i can afford any thing that will lift it up high enough to put some big tires on there

also , what kind of advice can you give me about rims too..

what about 33's... if i got a body lift and the other things you told me to get , would they fit with the right rims or no?

god , i feel like a idiot talking about this stuff... :(

You are going to have 1 major problem... the FIRST thing you need to do before any lift is get 4 door leaf springs. This is because of that crappy mono-leaf back there... any lift you do will flatten that out within a few months and you'll have negative lift. (i know this first hand).

my 98 sport:
TT/Shackles
4 door leaf springs off 2001
2" PA Body lift
32x11.50x15 bridgestone dueler AT
15x8 rock cralwers

*ill have pictures with all that done sometime next week.

thanks a lot , thats why im getting as much info as possible before i start anything , let us know when you get the pics so i can see how it looks

No prob. ive lifted my 98 sport 4x4 to the max without spending a LARGE amount of money. so if you have anyquestions feel free to email me or send a PM. Ill be glad to help

also , where did you get your brush gaurd , im looking to get one...

Mine had it when i bought it...

Id suggest looking in the For Sale Or Trade forum, i remember seeing one for sale there today. Otherwise just search around for some good prices- JCWhitney, Summit, 4wheelparts, Ebay....
