First its a 2005 Ex with a 4.0 auto. At first we thought we had the dreaded trans failure. Tried out a new solenoid pack and trans shifts great. Now the issue is that in forward gears starting around 800-1200 rpm it surges and wants to die. Problem was not there before replacement of solenoid pack. As it warms up you can feather the gas and get past it. When its cold, its almost instant stall. Also when in P,R,N there are no issues. Idles smooth, and once you get past that rpm range it runs and shifts great. If you get a rolling start it will go just fine. Im kinda stuck at this point and not sure what else to do.
I have done the following so far.
Throttle body motor and tps sensor.
Checked for loose vacuum hoses.
Fixed broken wire in door. Got other things to work.
Checked o2 sensors wires and found one rubbing on trans case and moved it. No change.
Cleaned the maf sensor.
Checked almost all the fuses.
It just happens in forward gears. Also there is a weird hissing noise when shifting into drive. Any help is greatly appreciated.
