Help with the Explorer anti-theft system.

My name is Mel (from Puerto Rico) I had own my 1998 Explorer Sport since 2000, and never had any problems with it until now. It does not want to start. The engine turns over, it has spark and fuel but it will not start. The theft light blinks continuously. Never did that before. Anyone out there had this problem, and how did you fix it?

I''ll appreciate any help with this issue.....

Pats issues will cause the no start. It could be a lot of things from bad key to pats transceiver. Do you have any codes like P1260?

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. You were right, it was a bad key. I tried my spare key, and the THEFT light went out after a couple of seconds and the engine started on.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. You should get a spare PATS key just in case your only PATS key malfunctions.
