Hey so there is this squeking noise comming from the belt area of the engine. It sounds like a bad serpentine belt but it happened rather fast, (over the course of 5 days), granted those 5 days where after a 300 mile trip home...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KleYbvfDSgM&feature=youtu.be

That is a link to the youube video I took, its not great quatlity and the noise is a hundred time louder. Ive replaced tensioner and idler pully. There is no nose from the back of the engine. Any thoughts? The pully doesnt look warn but it was put on before I got the car.

The engine is teh 4.0 OHV and no codes

Any help is appreciated!

if you had a V8 i'd say the cam position sensor, but i don't know if the SOHC V6's have the same/similar setup.

Ok so I replaced the serpentine belt and the noise stopped for about 400 miles and now it started again, not as bad yet but still annoying. Anyone have any thoughts?

while you had the belt off did you check all the pulleys. a worn pulley bearing will effect the belt alignment.

I checked the pullys best i could and there was no obvious signs, the tensioner was extremly loose so i replaced it and there was still squeking. I was thinking it could be the harmonic balancer.

That's the same noise my engine made when the idler pulley went out. My idler pulley looked brand new before it went out. There was a shiny fine metal dust around the bearing.
