I'm not sure if this is where I should ask this but it seemed liked the best category. I got a 99 explorer xls, the driver side has a bad rattle in the door. It is this little spring that helps the power window motor raise the window. There is a little tang or tab that has some how come out of where it is supposed to be. The problem is I can't tell where it is suppose to be, so I don't know how to fix it. I'm hoping someone has some insight(with pics maybe). The passenger door is already dynomatted so I can't look at that to figure out what it is.

Thanks in advanced.

I think I have a little experience with this....LOL

You must use EXTREME CAUTION when messing with the spring on the window regulator...Failure to do it the RIGHT WAY would lead to SERIOUS INJURY, and POSSIBLE DEATH...

Maybe I should do a writeup on the correct way to do this...hmm..I dunno...I have an appointment with my surgeon in a couple hours....he's gonna let me know if he can put my thumb back together or not..

I saw your little thread already but I couldn't find anything on where the end of this spring goes. Do I have to pull the whole window regulator out of the door? I don't know how it got off but the rattling is driving me crazy.

So does anyone know if there is an easy way to get the spring back where it belongs?
