Alright guys, this is what I've got a 92 EXP with the JBL sound system, one Audiobahn Alum12Q which is 1000 watts rms and an Audiobahn amp A8000T rated at 800 watts rms mono. This amp is already hooked up running the sub, now I would like to hook up another amp to run my speakers. I read elsewhere on the site that the factory amp wires will not power a different ampis this true? Also I need to know if I hook up an amp (roughly 35wX4, I think) should I look into getting a higher output alternator and a capacitator or just one or the other?

Thanks Guys

If I were you, i'd get that other amp and just wire it through your current power wire as long as it is 4gauge+. If it's anything smaller, you should probably run a lower gauge power wire to the back. Just get a distribution block with a 4 or lower guage input and 2 or more 4 or 8 gauge outputs. That way you have 1 wire running to the back then it hits the distro block and you have it split to 2 wires, one going to each amp. As far as the stock wiring not being sufficient?? I wouldn't think so, its not hard wiring up a distro block. Look at knukonceptz.com they should be able to take care of you. You can try hookin up the other amp and if you get much dimmage, get a higher power alternator. I dont get dimmage with a 1200.1 JBL powering my w7 so I dont think you should have much of a problem even at full draw.

would both amps still be able to draw enough power?
