ok i performed the koeo and koer test tonight and i got the following codes..
koeo... 11.. i know is system pass
cm... 41.. HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side)... what does that mean???
koer... 11.. system pass

What does the CM code 41 mean???

Another ??
I have a continous click in my gas line running up to the engine.. i pin pointed it by a screwdrive to the ear trick..
What could be causing this???
My EX is getting 10 mpg..... 200 miles per tank... this is my reason for trying to find out whats wrong....

Last ??... I noticed tonight when the engine was at idle that my spark plugs really glow... and when i rev it up they are like flashlights??? i figure a little glow does the glow indicate bad wires??? i just changed the plugs but not the wires...
My check engine light has been coming on about 10 minutes after i start my ex.. but it will sometime go off after a while but then come back on...???

IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH THIS GAS DRINKIN PROBLEM I WOULD BE REALLY GREATFUL!!!!
Thanks

Mike

I think the gas tank is 16ish gallons, so at 10 MPG you couldn't go 200 miles, how are you calculating mileage?

umm, never seen a sparkplug look like a flashlight, you sure they aren't loose or something?

if you are running the tank all the way to empty, (assuming actually only getting 10 mpg) you've probably sucked some crud into the pump, I don't know what the "rule" is but I was raised no less than a 1/8th of tank if you live in hilly country.

I have to say, I get better gas mileage than that out of overdrive pulling a trailer over the hills I still break 15 mpg, and I am a 4x4 and all the extra weight that entails. I would look at your tranny, as well as your driving habits, if you are young, aka you are trying to go everywhere fast, you get bad gas mileage, go get a honda, in regular day to day driving, I get along quite happily without getting over 2500 rpm, towing without Overdrive I might go a little higher, but not much. 15mph x 13gallons (where I usually get gas) is 195 miles.... let us know!

hmmmmmmmm

If by glowing you mean the spark plugs are getting white hot and actullay them selves glowing then this is really bad and could be caused by the lean problem. LEAN=the injectors are not putting enough fuel into the cylinder possibly caused by a bad maf sensor or mabey an egr problem could be caused by alot of things. Now as for the clicking it is most probably the injectors opening and closing wich is totally normal. if you do the ear thing with the screw driver on one individual injector you will hear it open and close but it is ok not a problem at all.
Could you get a picture of the glowing you are talking about?? Now 10mpg is way too low especially with a lean code. I have no idea why unless on the left side you have an injector stuck open mabey you should do an injector bleed down test.

the gas tank is 19.3 gallons or close to that...

my maf sensor has just been replaced and cleaned... the 91 x didnt have egr..
it seems to be running rich more than lean.. when i first got the x it would blow tons of black build up , not smoke, ever time i started it... but i replaced the maf and iac and now that is better but the 10 mpg is killing me and i know it can at least get 15... something is wrong... the glowing plugs is not the wires its the plugs.. maybe where the plug and wires meet... can it be the o2 sensor trying to componsate the fuel/air mixture??/ i really have no clue about it.... help please.

It's kinda like st elmo's fire right? Switch to a new set of factory double platinums.

sounds stupid but check and make sure you tightened the spin on heads of the new plugs (many plugs have threads covered by the little ball part) if that was loose it would be a bad connection point, it might cause glowing....

you might need a "colder" spark plug

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/overviewp2.asp

when pulling off the wires you could have cracked the wire boot, causing it to arc... this is probably the most likely since you justchanged the plugs and not the wires, so they may be brittle.
