Agreed, personally I do not believe that global warming is man made, such as Gore depicts it to be, but rather, if anything a natural cycle. However that does not mean there are steps we should not take to clean up pollution, as we have an obligation to protect and preserve God's creation, such as president Woodrow Wilson did. I just don't believe in radical/socialist environmental policies the left tends to push upon us.

I just fear that our government's socialist bail out packages for the auto industries will force Ford and GM to produce vehicles so "environmentally-friendly" that nobody will want to buy them, to be a solution to a problem that doesn't even exist.

With all that in mind, I have a clear conscious using my SUV as my daily driver to work, school, and other "city" errands. I am thankful that I live in a country to have the freedom to drive my Ford Explorer.

I want to keep the environment from being polluted and destroyed but the reason I want that is so that I can enjoy nature. If they close all the trails and force auto makers to stop making cars that can go on trails then I will care a lot less about nature.

The automakers need to be profitable and if that means dropping some SUVs that is fine as long as it is market forces causing it rather than the government forcing it. I guess there is always Toyota and Nissan.....

We should try and stay away from politics guys!!! it causes friction! but its good to see no skirmishes among you yet. As Americans and citizens of the free world lets try and bind together, whether you voted Obama or Mccain, we need to support OUR President for the bennefit of America AND the world, ooh and poutine looks delicious!!!

i am not talking about dividing "our little house "here at the forum, i agree we should all stick together, wether you be liberal or democrat, , we have a coomon tie to each other as Explorer owners and concerned enviromentalists,,
we are not getting in each others face, we respect the fact that they thought that their canidate would and will and hopefully try to do their job to the best of the ability ,
and on the auto front,, if the big 3 saw the writing on the wall Honda , toyota and the other japanese auto makers would only be makig cars for their own contry ,

by the way , some people add chilli to there poutine too, , great ice fishing food,, keeps you warm from the inside out,,
so that makes it fries, cheese, gravy and chili,,, mmm mmm good, ,
sticks to the ribs,,, and the shorts too

Shredded cheese is an ok substitute...but most Deli's would sell cheese curd. Enjoy!! ;)
