Glad to see the damage wasnt too terribly bad. System looks awesome keep up the work. Not gettin nosey or anything but how much did all that custom work cost you? I was thinking of doing the same thing. lol What does the wife think of all this? lmao. And remember, its not a bald spot, its a solar panel, for a SEX machine. haha.
The only thing that has kept me from painting the mirrors on my Limited is this: The black trim around your door window and the mirror kinda work together. If you step back and look you will see what I am talking about. If you paint the whole mirror red you trim will look as if it just stops when it gets to the mirror.
I will probably paint mine also, but just wanted to share my thoughts.
Will take updated photos today. I know for a fact that the door panels have been done. But I don't know if anyone here is ready for this. They are a bright red now instead of tan. They look good, but I am just happy to see something done. Will get updates today.
edit, I also wanted to add that I did have the mirrors, windshield cowl, and the rear spoiler all painted red. Sorry, I think it looks dang good. Plenty of pics today, plenty, LOL
A dent sort of like that happend to my mother's taurus and it popped out on its own because of the heat down here... I dont know if you will have the same luck or not but it doesnt look too bad otherwise. All you need to do, basically is buff that out.
Listen Ronnie, I've watched this damned PC spin for 3 hours now. It's pretty sweet, but it's not very entertaining. The Phillies game took my attention for a few hours (thank God for a rain delay), but again, I'm watching this spin. If you don't want me to 'buff you from existance,' I'd get those photos posted!
Actually, just in time for my internship to run out, I have two vehicles to detail tomorrow. Of course, they won't be with the PC as I do other folks vehicles by hand, but it'll keep me occupied till you get those photos posted. Take your time!
since its down anyways, get the cowl and mirrors painted too....
a cowrker sent his lightning into a recommended paint guy to have his bumper replaced as he hit a cone on the freeway and it thrashed it... well he got both foglights, and the guy painted his mirror edge cover things and washed and waxed the truck and cleaned the inside too..... he got it back and was like damn! this is cleaner now than when i took it in... and my coworker is super **** about cleaning and waxing his truck
have you seen those panels mounted on the door yet?
there is very little clearance with mine... i'm assuming they aren't so dumb as to make panels that won't clear the door recliner lever, but i'm certain that you won't be able to put your hand down there at all with those panels.
here is a picture of mine- i have very little clearance as they are. and as you see the way mine come back to the stock shape for the whole rear section due to these clearance issues i'm thinking about.
Mine has retained it't stock shape. It just has some cut outs for the speakers to sink in. actually nothing is higher than from the normal door panel was prior. The red will tone down with the trim put back on them. Some gold and silver and oc course the tan. I don't want the pin stripes removed. I like them, LOL.
I like it. You'll have to PC your inner-doors now and then, though! LOL.
I received the Autopia kit today! I'm going to Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears tonight to check out some smaller tool-chest toolboxes (the ones with wheels, etc.). I figure I have enough detailing supplies to sufficiently use such a box with drawers and a chest. I think Sears had a Craftsman one for $250 last week. We'll see what their smaller units run.
Again, I like the look. It looks very show-truck, and that's cool.
Please remove the ones that are taped over and go back to the dealer to get new ones. It will be alot better job in the long run and hell, it shouldn't cost you anything!
