The chrome on the grille of my 97 eddie bauer explorer is faded and looks like crap. I went the junkyard and got a sport grille, (non chrome) and i was going to paint it the same color as my car (toreador red), but with the grille inset still being bright silver instead of monochrome.

I just wanted others opinions on it, before i did it, and if anyone could post pictures of similar (i.e., body color grill surround with silver/ aftermarket grille)....

Far from a perfect job, but it looks just fine

I had never seen a picture of a saleen xp8 until earlier today, they had a similar grille, with the center being a darker color

Not bad. I plan on doing something similar with my Mounty grille.
