hesitation

Hey everyone, Im having a problem with my 1991 ford explorer xlt

When I am in gear and at low revs 1400-1800 rpm the engine hesitates significantly, it idles great and runs well at higher rpm's

any ides?

I'd start with a few basic diagnostics: check for vacuum leaks/missing caps/lines, check fuel pressure/fuel delivery, pull codes in case the computer can see the problem.
