1998 Explorer Sport
Hey guys/gals. I've been watching this forum for a while now, and I finally picked up a '98 Explorer Sport. It's going to need a few minor things, but nothing major. Hopefully it'll be a good daily driver for me. I drive about 100 miles every day, so we'll see... Just wanted to say hi!

Welcome Rottie! Since you're driving 100 miles/day, let me point you toward a couple threads if you haven't seen them already....

Aldive's Quest for 30 (required reading for any high mileage driver) http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44372&highlight=quest

In fact, I'd say any of Aldive's threads should be required. Take his advice and you'll seriously increase fuel economy and the life of your drivetrain!

The TPS Mod (somewhat debated, but easy, free and is pretty much risk free) http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79362

Thanks Gator! That looks like a couple of really long posts. When I get some free time I'll definately go over them.

No problem! If any of your minor problems require replacing something, definitely check out the Quest for 30 thread beforehand. There are some replacement parts that you can put on your X that will definitely improve fuel economy and longevity.
