just a couple questions im asking because there the only things i really am curious and would like direction towards

so far trucks great ... i do hear the hub bearring or what i think is front hub i do hear something when doing about 65 .. mpg sucks 12.6 lol still havent drove it "hard?" i mean like drive it more aggressive than say my mother would drive it? I wanna see if i make a turn faster than the "reccomended" mph wanna see if the truck will be fine .. im not implying beat the **** out of it i mean have some fun with it?

trucks great though and with 100 thousand miles its a champ , although i did notice the under carriage is a little rustier than when i had my chevy blazer with the same miles

how do i remove the rear headrest? they got bitten by what looks like a dog ?

my damn hood wont stay open but both latches are there any fix?

the arm rest , mine is torn like many others .. are they really 50 dollars on ebay to buy a new one?

the mach unit radio .. im not soldering my unit.. are they 250 dollars for a mach unit?

i need a heat shield .. im not making one can i just buy one already made? and bolt it in

random... is it better to fill the gas tank up at one time or does that affect my ****ty mpg lol

The hood needs new struts. Inexpensive, and an easy install, no tools needed. Filling the tank either all at once or multiple times will not affect your fuel mileage. Bad O2 sensor will. I would be damn cautious about seeing how fast you can go around a corner/turn. Remember, the Ex has a higher center of gravity. You want to go fast around a corner, get a sports car.

Completely understand about making fast turns that's why I implied I wasn't

Specifically I mean I've driven my truck as if it's my grandmother driving it.. When I had my red Chevy blazer 98 .. I would actually make nice turns .. This is and with better tires .. I need to get to know my explorer better but do they atleast maintain them selves if I enter a turn faster than my grandma would

I'll be replacing the sway bar but not for a couple months After this summer ...

I do need to replace one of the mirror lift gate in the trunk and the hood ones I'll do them together

Tomorrow I'm installing my Mac CAI which should be quick cause when I installed my HIDs I left the intake unbolted for easy removal so I do want a heat shield , I had one in my Chevy

2 Things to add:

1. Why are you installing a CAI?? You realize the stock airbox is just that correct???

2. If you want a performance vehicle, you should not have bought a 4200 pound SUV with a restricted 302 in it............

Oh and your radio, I got one out of a 02 F150, they fit right in place of the old ones and work 10 times better and do not suffer from the display problems the old ones do.

They come in cd and tape kinds along with 6 cd ones.

You do have to install a new connector but that is very easy.

You might want to do a tune up on it, 12.6 mpg sounds pretty bad.

Can't say I wanna debate intakes .. It's better than OEM , and so bluntly saying its a stock air box, debate that with every car forum and see where that gets u

2. I didn't say anything about making a performance bench mark truck I asked if it holds it self well ..

Don't involve yourself with invalid opinions to the thread if there not beneficial

Thanks

And I have a Eddie Bauer , I was told that I have a Mach unit so I need a different radio

I drive half city and Highway but trucks got a good tune up , Im on my 2nd bottle of chevron techron fuel cleaner , I just did a fresh oil change with synthetic penzoil platinum oil and Bosch filter

I believe recent spark plugs were done from previus owner , along with a full oem exhaust and a starter

Not that a CAI will make any large affect but I would like to make my own judgement with my driving habit to see if I get any mpg jump although I have my opinion saying it won't

I was told with the Awd models u can drain the differential fluid for the Awd ... What oil am I looking for? I use Amsoil

My .02, pull out the silencer in the airbox and use a K&N drop-in filter.

If you are referring to the transfer case, it takes Mercon ATF. I think the manual says to change it every 60k but it will look like tar by 30k. I change mine every 30k. There is a drain plug and a fill plug on the back of the transfer case, there may be a vibration damper covering the drain plug but it unbolts easily. It is easy to change yourself if you have a suction gun to fill it. Most people never think to do it (or flush the tranny) at all. When someone on the boards asks about buying a used one that's always the first thing I tell them to do, plus the axles.
If you mean the axles, the front takes 75w-90 gear lube and the rear takes 75w-90 or 75w-140, depending. Really the only way to change the front diff lube is to go to a qwicky lube where they do it with a suction machine.

I purchased Amsoil transmission fluid last night hoping to do it next week

Ive never flushed the T case, u think ill notice .a ride difference

Ride difference? Are you serious?

I know exactly what you are saying. I've thought the same thing many, many times. Two weeks ago I lowered my torsion bars 1 full turn, went for a ride, thought, damn what a difference. Two weeks later, rides just like it did before. Unless the T/C is on its way to the great automotive graveyard, vibrating, shaking, tearing itself to pieces, there's no way it can affect the ride. But sure makes you think so.

Why don't you want to solder your radio? Real easy job, takes like 15 minutes including dis-assembly and re-assembly. I do it all the time with Ford radios and Chrysler instrument clusters.

Maybe I should.

My radio is.set up anyway with my stations so no rush

I dont.think the previous owner ever flushed the tranny/transfer case so I got 2 quarts on amsoil atf so hoping to do it tuesday, even if nothing feels different ill be happy knowing its fresh

Hey guys qiestion my E brake is shot no stopping power in it ... How can I fix it
