Hey, new guy looking for some tips on these fine vehicles

Hey, my name's spencer, and i'm a ford guy haha

i recently wrecked my 95 lightning, , and i'm looking to get back into the game of performance vehicles

i'm looking at a 96 Explorer (sport?), its been well taken care of, 156k, new rear diff, awd, its clean

5.0 motor 3.73 gears

but its not fast enough for me

i'm wondering what i'm looking at doing to get some 9.2's in the 1/8th mile

turbo? s/c?

the only things that i have currently for doing things to it is my intake manifolds from my L, the GT40 ones..i was wondering if i can swap those on.

so tell me guys, what am i looking at doing to achieve those times...

btw, great site, i've been looking at a bunch of other forums, and this one is really nice to use..

If your 96 has a 5.0 it's not a Sport unless someone did a 5.0 swap.

The Explorer 5.0 has the GT40 intake already. It just isn't the metal tube upper the Lightning.

Your best performance (and least expensive) gains are going to be Torque Monster headers and a tune.
