My youngest brother lives in Lakeland, Florida. He invited my brother, my girls and I to come down and visit. We will be leaving on the morning of the 22nd of December and arriving on the 23rd after a stop for sleeping since my brother will be doing most of the driving. I can't drive more than a couple of hours before having to stop for a 1/2 hour or so to stretch my legs and whatnot, plus I told him, since I'm kind of night blind, I won't drive in the dark in unfamiliar surroundings, especially where there are NO streetlights and nothing to guide you but those white lines on the road We plan to be home by New Year's Eve since we want to have a rest day before returning to work on the second of January.
Although I'd prefer to spend the holidays in Vermont like I usually do, I figured that this might be the only time I may get to visit down there, so I'm taking advantage of it. Plus, I'll get finally meet my niece and nephew, whom I've only seen through pictures and talking to them on the phone
We are going to rent an Explorer to drive for the trip, since I don't want to take mine that far before I bring it in for maintainance.
