Does that mean that you will never see any Explorers 2002-up over there?

...That is not correct as I had seen reports of very rare sightings of a newer gen over there...It was a left hand drive from the states...
...IIRC, the UK received only 96-99 X's, right hand drive, under the Northface badge...and again, IIRC, these are different from the Australian and the New Zealand models...
