Hi all,

I'm new here and hoping to get a little advice. Originally I was thinking of a 2015 but will all the new included features and the new look, I'm totally sold on a 2016. I'm pretty sure I know what I want and apparently I can get "x" pricing through my wife's job but I can also combine that with current rebates. As of right now, theres hardly any but am willing to wait a few months for more inventory to come around and also hopefully get some holiday rebates?

My question being, does anyone happen to remember what ford did last year around Oct-dec? Maybe someone bought or knew someone who did last year? I realize every year can be different but if someone can give me an idea, it'll be helpful for me to make a decision on to buy now or wait...ps..i'm not a good waiter but I'm also not a person who has to buy right away and spend a bunch of $ that I could have saved. Thanks in advance and hopefully I'll be in a new explorer soon so I can have more reason to post a lot on the forum.

Welcome to this forum! Check the threads in the new Explorer section. They always come out with new features but you won't miss what you don't know about. :D What are you looking for as far as features? There are a lot of new gadgets such power 3rd row seats, inflatable seat belts, power hatch, etc. Keep in mind that the more gadgets it has the more things that might need to be serviced once the vehicle starts to age. More gadgets also means that the vehicle will weigh more so gas mileage will decrease. Sales people will always try to talk you into getting every extra option to increase the price of the vehicle. The resale value of the vehicle will only be slightly higher with every option so you never get back the full value of each option. Do you remember the good old days when power windows, seats, locks, A/C, AM/FM stereo, delay wipers, and cruise control were considered optional equipment? Things have changed over the years.

maybe my post was confusing. As of now,i'm pretty sure of the options I want in my limited, i'm just trying to decide the best month to buy. As of Aug, they only have $500 customer cash(in the US) and am wondering if I wait until Nov/Dec, does ford usually do any extra "holiday" incentives/rebates. I always see them on the fusion/escape but not sure about the explores, as I've never considered purchasing one before. I realize every year may have different incentives but maybe someone remembers last year around that time or maybe someone actually purchased then? If they don't usually do anything, i'll just purchase now but would love to save a couple extra bucks. Also, I'm part of the X plan so I don't have to do any negotiations, I'll get invoice pricing basically but the incentives/rebates are the only thing that can change. Hopefully this all makes sense and clarifies my question?

did anyone buy a new explorer last year?

Hi all, I made a different post but I think my original question was confusing. I'm trying to decide what month to but my 2016 explorer. If you bought a 2015 explorer last year, could you tell me what month and if they had any good rebates or incentives on them? I'm wanting to buy soon but am thinking I should wait till Oct/nov. This question isn't really around what month to buy to get the lowest price because I get invoice prices already, but with the plan I have, I can stack incentives with the invoice pricing. Does anyone remember if they even did incentives on them or if its just mainly fusion, escape, f150's etc?

Thanks

Incentives, etc. are not announced ahead of time and may vary from region to region. Right now in Canada, Ford is offering 'Employee Pricing'. The Platinum I checked out over a month ago is now over $5000 less.

I also merged your 2 threads.

I understand current year incentives aren't known until they're announced, I'm just trying to see if they did anything last year to get an idea if maybe they'll do something this year. Last year Nissan had the same incentives for the same months as they did this year. Just trying to get an idea if it'd be smart to wait.
