I know this is a very abused topic. But I'm not in the position that I really want to get these. I don't have an extreme amount of money right now, but I would like to get them.

I found this from ebay: Click Here.

I would like opinions on these. I know there are better kits.

I would also make a kit to pull power from the battery instead of the stock headlight wiring. I don't like the idea of it drawing from those wires.

If you know of any other cheaper kits and would like to share, please do.

I would try them. I mean for the price, you aren't getting the best kit out there but I would say give it a shot.

And I wouldn't go more than 5000K color temp. It's the closest to white so it'll give you the best light output.

You and other drivers wont be happy with them unless they are in the crystal clear lenses. Your OEM lenses will glare horribly w/HID.
5000K is deffinetly best to go with.

By Crystal Clear you mean Diamonds? If so, I already have them.

And my plan is the 5000k kit. I hate when there's any trace of blue in them. If I'm paying that much, I want the most useable light possible.

I'm pretty sure he meant diamonds

OEM lenses glare very bad with hids. I wont give my speech about using halogen housings with HID

Thats a very good price; however, you might want to look into spending a few more $$ and go with a kit that people on this board have. I think for $30 you can get a proven kit a few people on here own. I have both 4300k bulbs and 12000k bulbs. I got the 12000 because one reason I went HID was for the crazy color you can get. 6000k will give you ultra white light with a tint of bluish.

The kit looks reasonable for the price for sure. Looks like another Canadian outfit so you can't go wrong. ;)

They do sound like a seller I saw on eBay. They seemed pretty good and seemed to stand behind their stuff. The components are most likely lower end Asian sourced no-name items, but I've heard a lot of that isn't as bad as the connotation. I'm with you on the wiring harness thing.

I disagree. I ran both my old 12000k and current 5300K HIDs in both my diamond and stocks. I stuck with the stockers because they projected better and glared less with both.

Good, I don't have to give you my refutes again. ;)

Where do you use that "crazy colour"? You know as well as I that 12000K are horrible for useable light in most conditions. Show car or something? Just curious is all. Given that you put so much work into your setup, I was surprised when I saw you went with the 12000.

So the general consencous is to give them a try?

One thing that makes me wonder, they list them on Ebay for $199, and then give a link in their auction to their site which I listed above. Should I got through Ebay just so I have some protection? Seems a little weird to me.

i have used 6-10k bulbs.

i run 10k bulbs in my daily driven a6 avant. They are just as bright as the stock whatever K HID's were.

Reply I got from them:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our kits. All our kits are made in Taiwan and
we do not do branding on the kit because we manufacture for big brands.
However, our kits have the exact high quality as the big brand's quality.

We do cover one full year warranty on the kit. In the case if anything goes wrong, we will give you direction to troubleshoot first, and if problem exist, send it back to us, we'll run a test to it. If its found defective, we will replace you with a new one.

When you are ready, kindly place your order at http://www.cqlight.ca

Thank you.

Seems like a reasonable place. Quick response as well.

Oh yes, and this isn't a discussion about I should be retrofitting projectors and such. You think I should, you're more than welcome to provide the parts and do the labor. I can house you for a few nights.

I have also decided on 5000k bulbs. I hate any trace of purple or blue in them. Friend has 4300k in his Acura and they beautiful.

worth a shot.

but..can you help me understand the hangup about not using the factory wiring harnesses? if your factory bulbs run off them 55/65w. then whats the problem with 35w HIDs? not trying to cause a prob. i just would like to understand. i know for me it was a plus that mine just used the factory harnesses.

I gave up giving my $.02 about non-retrofitted setups.

And i use 12000k because
1) One reason I went HID was to get the very nice colors you can acheive from HID lighting
2) Its really not that bad at 12000k with projectors. 12000k is still brighter and lights up the road a lot more than halogen. However, when it becomes the rainy season...4300k are going back in
3) Why not, I got 4300k and 12000k...takes 5 mins to change bulbs. Ive also gotten numerous compliments on the 12000k bulbs

What brand bulbs?
Hows the blue/purple ratio?
Pics?

I bought my 12000k bulbs and the brand is mcculloch. They are a dark purple rather than a light purple

ak there is no real reason, the stock harness are well good enough, stupid in my opinion with your set up to change it. Some HID setups require new leads off the batter just to ensure good contact and maybe the balests pull more. Thats all...no worries guy, your good....
